Role description

You will work closely with engineers, product managers, and business developers, both from our team in Zürich and our divisions across Europe.

Main tasks and responsibilities

  • Plan and execute mechanical and electrical workshop activities for producing prototypes, custom equipment, and demonstrators in close collaboration with our engineering team.
  • Operate the our workshop equipment to produce prototype parts (CNC machining, 3d printing, welding).
  • Ensure the prioritized, timely, and efficient completion of components and assemblies.
  • Support the engineering team with parts procurement and coordination of purchasing processes.
  • Maintain and optimize workshop organization, tools, and setup to ensure necessary availability and capability for project work.
  • Execute prototype performance tests in-house or at customer sites.
  • Enforce workshop safety measures.

Education and experience

  • Technical education (e.g. Polymechaniker (EFZ) or Bachelor’s degree) in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience with CNC machining, 3D printing, assembly and wiring.
  • Experience with parts procurement and suppliers interactions. Knowledge of SAP is a plus.
  • Knowledge of laboratory safety measures and protocols.
  • Familiarity with performance testing procedures and equipment is a plus.
  • Knowledge of PLC or any programming language is a plus.
  • Experience with commissioning is an asset.
